According to reports, the scammer even gave the boy a pistol and uniform, declaring, “You are an IPS officer from today.”
An 18-year-old boy was caught impersonating an IPS officer after purchasing a police uniform and pistol for Rs 2 lakh. Even after his arrest, he continued to argue with the police, insisting that he was an IPS officer. Reports also mention that he casually enjoyed samosas and fritters while informing people that he had officially become an “IPS officer.”
A young man impersonating an IPS officer was arrested by Sikandra police. “He is currently being questioned at the station, and all gang members involved in this scam will be apprehended,” a senior police officer told local media. The authorities recovered both the uniform and pistol from the boy, who revealed that a man named Manoj Singh had promised him a police job in exchange for ₹2 lakh.”Manoj Singh told me that if I gave him ₹2 lakh, he would secure a police job for me. I paid most of the amount a month ago, and he handed me the uniform and pistol near Khaira school. I returned to my village to inform my mother and then went to Khaira to give the remaining ₹30,000. That’s when the police caught me at Sikandra Chowk,” the boy explained.

In the video, the local police humorously greet the young man, saying, “Come sir, IPS…to Sikandara Police Station,” as he is brought in for questioning. The clip has sparked a wave of reactions online.One user jokingly commented, “Bhai cracked UPSC too early. He is IPS Officer from MXXXX (online shopping website),” referencing the boy’s ill-fated attempt to pose as an IPS officer. Another chimed in, “Bihar and their love for civil services!
