What Did Himanshu Mishra Say?
In his viral interview, Mishra opened up about the impact of his gaming addiction, which ultimately led to a rift with his family. Speaking with anchor Prateek Trivedi on News18, he shared that his mother, a teacher, “doesn’t even want to speak to me,” and noted that his “entire family has distanced themselves” from him.He further expressed that his relationships with loved ones had deteriorated to the point where he believed that if something were to happen to him on the street, his family wouldn’t even come to check on him.
Discussing his addiction, Himanshu Mishra confessed to borrowing money to continue playing. He stated, “Once you’re addicted, you’ll do anything to feed it.” Visibly emotional, Mishra admitted that he had once qualified for the JEE main exam but lost the money meant for his B.Tech tuition fees due to online gambling. He also shared that, despite having a good relationship with his brother, they are no longer in touch, and he longs to reconnect with his niece. Unfortunately, his addiction has caused irreparable damage to these relationships.In the viral video, Mishra recounted an incident involving a police officer from UP who invited him to play the game, leading to significant losses. This resulted in him being detained at a police station for about seven days. The video has sparked a serious online debate about the harmful effects of online gambling and gaming apps on the younger generation, with some users calling for a ban on such games.
